All about dress rehearsal
 

2024 dress rehearsal policies

WHEN AND WHERE 

  • Sunday, June 16th at 11:00 AM

  • Villa Victoria Academy 

  • Doors to the performing arts center will open at 10:00 AM

  • We ask dancers arrive no later than 10:45 AM with full hair and makeup done. 

  • Dress rehearsal will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. dances will not be held or delayed for missing dancers. 

WHO

  • All dancers must be present at dress rehearsal in order to perform at recital.

  • Tiny tot and kinderdance students will receive 1 guardian wristband. Guardians with wristbands are able to sit in the audience.

  • All other dancers are asked to be dropped off prior to dress rehearsal and picked up after dress rehearsal. We are fortunate to have lots of help and no student is ever left unattended during our dress rehearsal or recital. 

  • Petite/Junior/teen/senior dancers are encouraged to be dropped off no later than 10:45 AM and can be picked up beginning at 1:30 PM 

  • Dancers are welcome to stay and eat lunch between dress rehearsal and recital. Please let our volunteers know if you choose to do so during drop off. 

PIck up/drop off and check in/check out

  • All dancers are asked to stay for the duration of our rehearsal and recital. We have lots of snacks, plenty of water, movies, coloring and more to keep our younger dancers busy. 

  • We ask that dancers do not bring toys or precious items from home. Knecht's Danceworks and  Villa Victoria Academy are not responsible for any lost or damaged items.

  • All dancers must be signed in and signed out of dress rehearsal and recital. Dancers can be dropped off at the front of steps and ushered in by our volunteers, but driver must still sign dancer in. All dancers can be picked up and signed out in the front lobby of performing arts center at the end of the performance.

What

  • Our dress rehearsal is an opportunity for dancers to practice their routines on stage before the big day. We run our dress rehearsal in the exact order and manner of our recital so dancers are prepared and know what to expect.

  • Dancers will be assigned dressing rooms backstage and remain in dressing rooms through the duration of the show. 

  • Dancers are not permitted in audience.

Photo and video 

  • During dress rehearsal, the house lights remain up.

  • A professional videographer will be videoing the full recital. 

 

 

All dress rehearsal policies are designed to keep our dancers safe and create a positive experience for all! We sincerely thank you all for allowing us to do what we love to do and for helping us put on a great show that our dancers have worked so hard for all season!
